| TERREMARK OPENS THE NAP OF THE CAPITAL REGION Posted on: 25/06/2008 Terremark Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ:TMRK), a leading global provider of managed IT infrastructure services, has announced the opening of the NAP of the Capital Region, one of the most secure and advanced datacenters in the United States. Driven by strong demand from federal government agencies and large enterprise customers, more than 20 percent of the facility's raised floor space has been sold prior to opening. This includes Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE:CSC), a leading IT services company that signed as the anchor customer in May. The NAP of the Capital Region, which was completed on time and within budget, will offer Terremark's complete suite of managed services, its Infinistructure(TM) utility computing platform, and diverse connectivity options to Tier-1 network providers. The facility is strategically located in Culpeper, Va., 60 miles from Washington, D.C. and was specifically designed to exceed standards as a Federal data communications and hosting facility offering the ultimate in physical security. The 30-acre campus is the ideal location for government organizations, enterprises and Web 2.0 companies requiring managed infrastructure solutions engineered to meet the needs of today's power, space and bandwidth-intensive mission-critical applications or hot/warm sites for disaster recovery/COOP environments. When fully built out, the NAP of the Capital Region campus will consist of up to five, 50,000-foot independent datacenter structures and a 72,000-square-foot secure office building. Each structure will be a secure bunker, designed to provide managed colocation space that meets the standards for sensitive compartmented information facilities (SCIFs) to customers who require it. |
